Helmut Wolfgang Ehnes

Secretary General of the International Section on Prevention in the Mining Industry of the ISSA (International Social Security Association)

Helmut Wolfgang Ehnes is the current Secretary General of the International Section on Prevention in the Mining Industry of the ISSA, from his Occupational career in different National and International management positions, he has more than 35 years of experience in the field of safety, health and wellbeing at work, total worker and enterprise safety and health. He serves other honorary functions in the ISSA;

  1. Technical Secretary of the new founded International Section on Prevention for Trade of the ISSA;
  2. Chairman of the VISION ZERO Steering Committee of ISSA;
  3. Chairman of the VISION ZERO Council of Trainings & Consulting-Organizations;
  4. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for “Family-owned Businesses. Society. Responsibility.”

He was the Director for Prevention at BG RCI (Statutory Accident Insurance for Mining, Raw Materials and Chemical Industries). Head of the Prevention Department – overseeing 600 staff, 110 Million Euro budget, 35.000 member companies and 1.4 million insurant.

He has authored ILO-Safe Work Publications as well as ISSA Guidelines on Prevention. He has appeared as Keynote Speaker in various international conferences. He is also an expert in several ILO and EU twinning OSH-projects in Vietnam, Turkey, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. He developed and implements the New Global ISSA Strategy Vision Zero for Safe Healthy and Sustainable Mining including the Seven (7) Golden Rules.

He is a Coordinator for Works on Contaminated Sites, An Environmental Protection and Industrial Hygiene specialist,

German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) – Head of “Central Prevention Division” at DGUV since 2019; Head of Section “Strategic Cooperation” since 2007;Vice President of the International Section of the ISSA on Information for Prevention since 2016;

Vice President of the International Section of the ISSA on a Culture of Prevention since 2019;

International co-operation in prevention (EU COM, EUOSHA, IALI, ICOH, ILO, ISSA, WHO, etc.);

Lecturer, trainer and senior expert for ISSA, ILO ITC, EU COM, TAIEX etc.

Leader of several international OSH projects;

Information/communication/campaigning programmes and OSH strategies;

Chief organizer of the "XX World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2014” in Frankfurt.

 

Jennifer Papantuono, BA MA

Coordinator for International Relations at BG ETEM/ISSA Electricity Section

After her studies in multilingual communications and technical translation, Jennifer joined one of the largest energy utilities in Germany where she worked as a junior technical translator and project manager. Here, she gained insight into the OSH processes of a global player. In 2015, she joined the Coordination Unit in the Prevention Department of the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the energy, textile, electrical and media products sectors (BG ETEM). In her position as Coordinator for International Relations, she is responsible for the planning and coordination of ISSA Electricity Section projects, e.g. conferences and trainings with a focus on electrical safety, swaps of experience for international safety experts and working groups.

Fırat Şükrü Eker

IVME Management Consulting Training and Trade Ltd, Istanbul, Turkey.

Fırat Şükrü Eker is member of the Turkey Chamber of Civil Engineers, he is the Founder/General Manager of IVME Management Consulting and Trade Limited. He has executed training projects funded by the European Union. He has also led more than 100 management system audits, consulting and trainings ranging from ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. He has delivered series of paper presentations/publications in conferences worldwide, he has spearheaded proposals on the establishment off functional United Nations commission on Occupational Health and Safety. His Corporate Social Responsibility and Safety and Health at Work was published and selected as one of the best projects by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work. He is also a part-time lecturer at Bahcesehir University on Risk Management.
